I saw something like this on friendsfriends and now can't remember who, where, or when!

Everybody already knows [info]fandomsecrets is the place to go when you need to get something off your chest as an anon. But what if you don't mind being outed as a crazyface?

This is the least secrety secret ever. )

I hope all you Canadians have/had a great Thanksgiving!

Audioscrobbler has now been turned off so no one can see how many times I'm about to listen to "This Is It" while waiting for the clock to run down*. :D:

Michael Jackson - This Is It

Apparently cleaned up from a demo he recorded with The Jacksons on backing vocals back in the early 80s. Which, yes, because it sounds very much like something that didn't quite make the cut for Off The Wall or Thriller (or Victory, for that matter).

BRB seven year old!me is freaking the fuck out right now. (Shit, now!me isn't far behind.)

Some websites are saying that this was recorded in the late 80s and left off of Dangerous. I wish I could remember how to make that "who the fuck knows" emoticon guy.

From where I'm sitting in the office, I can hear the song playing on at least three other workstations right now. :)

Today is Happy Monday For Realz, y'all. Dad's Company is moving out of town but his job is not! He's part of the division that is staying local so I can stop freaking out about his "awesome" plan to commute three states away every weekend. YAYYYYYYYYY. And even better: Grandma got her test results back and it looks like they got all of the cancerous cells when she had her lumpectomy last month. YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

In other news, I forgot what else I was going to say.

Oh right: My sister now refers to Jermaine Jackson (um because that's totally a name that comes up a lot in our house right now, I guess?) as ~*~Jermajesty~*~'s Dad. This is A+++ name-changing if ever I've heard it. She even does the body language/tone of voice equivalent of ~*~ ~*~ when she says it somehow.

Seriously though, Jermajesty is the greatest name ever. I want to have a dozen children and name them all Jermajesty, and then name all the pets Jermajesty as well, so I can say things to them and tack their name on sarcastically at the end, Jermajesty.

FYI: I have uploaded this MJ icon that I will probably never use again because I have a ludicrous number of MJ macros and gifs saved. Damn you, ONTD. Damn you, Childhood Crush That Apparently Will Survive Even the End of Days. And damn you for ruining that original nose, Michael Jackson. :(

If I ever create anything in my life that's even a fraction as awesome as this, I will die a happy lady. )

Why oh why do I keep trying to write this story in Scully POV when I know I'm utter and complete crap at Scully POV? Also I feel like I don't know enough pretentious words to write XF fic :(

Watched Michael & Michael Have Issues last night and whoa bizarre. I love it though! Shirtless no-contact kickfights ftmfw, amirite?

Huh, I don't remember deleting my Stella tag or icon. Weird.

My ginormous iTunes library has now swelled to 200+GB, so I whittled it down to two dozen artists that I thought I couldn't live without or hadn't heard in a while, or who were Michael Jackson because I remembered how much IL ALL MICHAEL JACKSON MUSIC YES EVEN THE TERRIBLE STUFF ON INVINCIBLE, and loaded those on the iPod, along with some Doctor Who and Star Trek audios. You know, in case you weren't sure how big of a dork I am.

Anyway, this song called Work That Body that was included on the special edition of Dangerous just came up and oh hay new favorite song ever. It's hilarious, and MJ breaks out in the middle with "Sit down girl, I think I love ya. No, get up girl, show me what you can do!" like this is a forever-delayed follow up to ABC and I clap like a seal every time.

And then! Born to Run was the next song up on shuffle! This could very well be the best iPod-at-work day ever.

If you're of a certain age - an age that sees very little that is hip or retro about the nightmare fashions we wore in the 80s; seriously, nightmare - odds are pretty much even that you had the same folder I did when you were growing up. And if you didn't, you wanted it like you had never wanted anything else in your life. (And if you didn't, dude, I don't even know you.)

You know the folder I'm talking about: MJ standing against a wall, looking ridiculously adorable in a horrible yellow sweater, a fake record sticking out of the top of the thing like you were carrying your spelling papers and some seriously funky kick-ass pop down to Mrs Campbell's room like a grown-up kid who got to change classes instead of sitting in the same boring room all day long.

My mom found mine just last weekend in a bunch of stuff at her house - well, she found two, actually, because my sister and I had the exact same everything - and brought it down. We laughed ourselves sick over the childhood drawings and school papers tucked inside. At one point I looked down at the folder in my lap and it was like I was six, seven, eight years old again. Michael Jackson truly was my first Fake Celebrity Boyfriend, even before I understood what that meant exactly, and the only ringtone I've ever purchased in my life was "Thriller" (still my default ring btw). He turned out to be an incredibly fucked up individual, a man to pity or revile or both, but the impact of his music and his performances was and is undeniable.

Last year for my birthday we went to Cleveland and visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Amid the geeking out I was doing over Bruce's guitar, Keef's stupid top hat, Run's Adidas, and Elvis' jumpsuit, there was this moment when I looked into a display case and just kind of had this moment of total shock. It was one of the gloves - that glove - and a besequined white poofy sock that looked like the ones we wore two pairs at a time, all slouched down and ridiculous-looking. It was kind of embarrassing to see, I mean, that's what we swooned over? Seriously? In a case, under a spotlight, it looks like the sad old sock once worn by a ridiculously talented but weird man that it is. But at the same time, it was so thrilling to have it right there in front of me.

It's been a long time since Michael Jackson was someone I admired, but the news yesterday still felt like a punch to the gut. I guess you never really do get over your first crush, do you?
